Just thought I’d share a few cool little video promo tools with you. They all do similar but different things, but they’re all easy to use, and all of them work from your phone.

Look, no one is producing blockbuster movies with any of these apps. But you can produce short promotional videos that will get the point across or tell a story and will work just fine for most small businesses.
Here are 3 super easy apps that’ll let you create short splash videos in a matter of clicks.
To get the most out of them, take your time getting to know each of their platforms. They all have very basic click-and-find user interfaces.
- Animoto
Both an app and a desktop program, Animoto has a lot of great templates that you’ll love and you can add audio from their excellent library of music beds. It’s all drag n drop and my grandmother can figure out how to use it. Get started here.
- Ripl
Primarily designed for mobile, Ripl is a cool little app that allows you to throw together a last-minute promo.
- iMovie
Ah, the old staple of video’s common man. But what’s not to love about quick and dirty video production you can do super-quick on your desktop, tablet, or phone? Come on it’s adorable. While there’s a little more of a learning curve than Animoto or Ripl, it’s worth it, and before you know it, you’ll be jonesin’ for Final Cut Pro. iMovie will definitely give you more flexibility than the other two apps mentioned, especially if you’re using a laptop.
Be careful about over-doing it.
Avoid over-using effects and such.
Especially ones that are already over-used out there.
Always take great care to accurately reflect your brand or the brand you’re promoting.
